It
is with great pleasure to welcome you
to the 2005 Taiji Legacy International
Martial Arts Championships, celebrating
the Year of the Rooster. This event is
hosted by the USA Chin Woo Federation
and sanctioned by the US Traditional Kungfu
Wushu Federation. The Taiji Legacy will
be unique in its own, gathering all styles
of taiji and kungfu from all parts of
the world, making it a spectacular event.
A 72 foot, multi-colored, illuminated
dragon and 8 lion dance demonstration
and performances by all major styles of
taiji will be displayed at the opening
of the tournament. A demonstration by
nationally and internationally distinguished
masters will be held Saturday morning,
July 23. On Sunday morning, July 24, we
will host the exciting Sanshou Fights.
Last years competition was a success,
drawing in nearly 800 competitors and
3000 spectators to this event. This year,
we are inviting schools from around the
world and anticipate that 900 to 1000
competitors will be participating in this
event! With the support from local and
guest judges and officials, we predict
that this tournament will again be well
organized and run efficiently.
Hosted in the beautiful city of Dallas,
Texas, the Taiji Legacy will be held in
the spacious Plano Centre, conveniently
located approximately 25 minutes from
the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport
and approximately 5 miles from the tournament
hotels.
The beautifully landscaped PLANO CENTRE
is a full-service, multi-purpose facility.
Comfortably accommodating up to 5,000
people in 86,400 square feet, Plano Centre
has accomodated our event in the past
and is our choice for hosting this grand
event this year.
Conveniently
located near a variety of hotels and restaurants;
shopping malls; historic downtown Plano
with its antique shops and beautiful park
settings; PLANO STATION ; and only minutes
from the world famous Southfork Ranch
and all Metroplex attractions.
We
aim not only to make your visit to Dallas
pleasant and memorable, but also to present
you an immensely challenging competition
that you will enjoy. We hope to see you
all!
